Synopsis
A pioneering study on the legal nature of the collection of genetic profiles in the course of criminal investigation. It analyzes the innovations introduced by Law 12,654/2012 and the debates over its constitutionality, contrasting the purpose of mere criminal identification with that of an autonomous means of evidence, from the perspective of human dignity and the principle of nemo tenetur se detegere.
